Abused Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Farm & Foundation
Mission: "An inner calling to pursue an activity or perform a service; a vocation"

AARRFF's mission is not to end all animal suffering...I have come to realize that would be futile, although I would welcome the day!
My mission, as the founder of AARRFF, is to help as many animals as humanely possible in my lifetime. And then, when I am gone, to leave this foundation for others to carry on my mission.
Don't EVER feel that YOU can't make a difference. YOU CAN make a difference in everything that you do! You might not be able to change the world, but what you do does matter. It has immediate consequences to the one you have saved. And I truly believe that it has a ripple effect!
I hope that I have made MANY RIPPLES!!!

We are AARRFF

Abused Animal
Rescue & Rehabilitation
Farm & Foundation
I suppose that says it all~
We aren't limited to dogs or cats~
We aren't limited to rescue - we also provide rehabilitative care~
We aren't a "shelter" - we are a sanctuary in the country~
We are a foundation - we depend on donations for our continued existence~
A little about me:
I am Diana, the founder of AARRFF. I live in Oregon. I work a full-time job like most people. But my mornings, my evenings and my weekends are spent caring for all of the animals who have found sanctuary here, and helping other animals to find sanctuary here or in their new forever homes.
I really don't remember a time when I wasn't rescuing animals! Even as a small child, I had a connection with animals. I was "lucky" to grow-up with animals being a part of my life. One of my earliest memories is of a wonderful German Shepherd, named Val. I was, maybe, 2 or 3 years old. But I remember that wonderful dog being my buddy, my protector, my first connection with the wonderful souls of animals!
I began helping animals very early on in my life. When I was only 12 years old, there was an elderly neighbor...I still remember her: Mrs. Nygarn. She had a dog and a cat: Smokey (the dog) and Blimey (the cat). I would go to her house each day, after school, to help her take care of her precious babies. And then one day, she was gone. But she did a wonderful thing: She entrusted ME with the continued care of her beloved dog and cat. Smokey, Blimey and I, had many wonderful years together!
I, somehow, always knew that I was destined to help the animals in this world. I am, indeed, a very lucky person!
Throughout my life, I have rescued many, many animals. They either found their new home, with my help, or they stayed with me for the rest of their lives. Then in 1995, I took the big leap! I bought a 60 acre farm, out in the country. I needed sanctuary for my growing number of rescues, outside of the confines of the City. I was able to bring my first rescue horse, Laredo, here to live. He had been in boarder care since I first rescued him in 1986! I was able to open my home to more horses, llamas, goats, sheep, pigs, dogs and cats!
When I leave this world, my property and sanctuary will go to the AARRFF non-profit foundation for the continued care and rescue of animals. I can't think of a better legacy!
